Plasma Water Bottle

Plasma Water Bottle — Product Details

Product Overview

The Plasma Water Bottle is a portable water treatment device that uses advanced cold plasma technology to purify and activate drinking water on demand. Unlike conventional filtration or UV disinfection systems, this device generates plasma directly within the water, creating a cascade of highly reactive species — including hydroxyl radicals (OH), atomic oxygen, ozone, and reactive nitrogen species — that eliminate bacteria, viruses, and organic contaminants. The result is clean, plasma-activated water (PAW) with enhanced antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, ready to drink in minutes. Designed for daily hydration, outdoor adventures, and emergency preparedness, this bottle combines cutting-edge plasma science with a food-grade, BPA-free body.

Core Technology

Cold Plasma Generation via Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD)

The bottle employs a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma generator — a technology that produces low-temperature plasma when high voltage is applied across an insulating dielectric layer. This method is particularly effective for generating plasma that efficiently creates active substances upon contact with water. The plasma generator consists of two electrodes separated by an insulating dielectric plate; when energized, the air between the electrodes is ionized and converted into plasma.

In-Water Electric Discharge

The system uses a high-voltage power supply coupled to a set of electrodes that cause an electric discharge directly within the water. This discharge triggers a series of reactions that eliminate bacteria and viruses, dissolve organic material, and oxidize inorganic compounds. The reactions generate highly reactive hydroxyl radicals (OH), atomic oxygen, ozone, and even ultraviolet radiation — all of which are highly effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens.

Plasma-Activated Water (PAW)

When plasma interacts with water, it produces plasma-activated water (PAW) — an aqueous solution enriched with reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS)-. These active species include peroxynitrous acid, hydrogen peroxide, nitric acid, and nitrous acid, which possess antibacterial and antiviral functions. The antimicrobial efficacy of PAW stems from the synergistic effects of direct plasma discharge, liquid-phase reactive species, and the acidic environment created during activation.

Hydroxyl Radical Generation

A key differentiator of this technology is the generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) — transient oxidizing agents with oxidation potential exceeding that of ozone. These radicals exist for extremely short periods in water, allowing them to rapidly degrade organic pollutants and bacteria before themselves reducing back to water with no toxic byproducts. This self-neutralizing mechanism ensures the treated water is safe for consumption.

How It Works

  1. Fill — Fill the bottle with water from any potable or semi-potable source (tap, well, river, or bottled water) to the indicated fill line. Do not overfill.

  2. Activate Plasma — Press the power button to initiate the plasma generation cycle. The high-voltage discharge ionizes the air within the discharge chamber, creating cold plasma.

  3. Plasma-Water Interaction — The generated plasma is mixed with the water in the treatment chamber. Reactive species including hydroxyl radicals, atomic oxygen, and ozone dissolve into the water, eliminating bacteria and viruses while oxidizing organic contaminants.

  4. Treatment Cycle — A standard cycle runs for approximately 1–5 minutes, depending on water quality and model. The LED indicator displays working status.

  5. Drink or Store — The plasma-activated water is ready to drink immediately. For optimal freshness and antimicrobial efficacy, consume within 1–2 hours. The activated water retains its properties for several hours when stored in a sealed container.

  6. Recharge — The built-in battery supports multiple cycles per charge. Recharge via USB-C when the battery indicator shows low power.

Health & Wellness Benefits

Plasma-activated water offers several documented and emerging benefits for daily hydration and wellness:

  • Broad-Spectrum Purification — The combination of hydroxyl radicals, atomic oxygen, and ozone provides effective inactivation of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa without chemical additives or residual disinfectants.

  • Non-Chemical Disinfection — Unlike chlorine or iodine tablets, plasma treatment leaves no chemical residue, no unpleasant taste, and no disinfection byproducts. The active species self-neutralize back to water after treatment.

  • Enhanced Hydration — Plasma treatment has been shown to modify water cluster structure, producing smaller molecular clusters that may enhance cellular absorption and hydration efficiency.

  • Antioxidant Properties — Plasma-activated water exhibits negative oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), indicating antioxidant capacity that may help neutralize free radicals.

  • Emergency Preparedness — Provides a reliable means of water disinfection in remote areas, during disasters, or wherever access to treated water is limited. The technology is suitable for hikers, campers, and emergency kits.

Usage Instructions

First-Time Setup

Before first use, fill the bottle with clean water and run one full treatment cycle to rinse the internal components. Discard the water. The bottle is now ready for use.

Daily Use

Fill with water from any potable source. For optimal plasma generation, use water at room temperature (20–25°C / 68–77°F). Avoid using boiling water. Screw the lid on tightly, press the power button, and wait for the cycle to complete. The plasma-activated water is ready to drink immediately after treatment.

Outdoor & Emergency Use

For water from uncertain sources (streams, lakes, rainwater), run two consecutive treatment cycles to ensure adequate disinfection. The compact, portable design makes it ideal for hiking, camping, travel, and emergency preparedness kits.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Routine Cleaning — After each use, rinse the bottle and electrodes with clean water. For deeper cleaning, fill with warm water (60–80°C / 140–176°F) and run a treatment cycle, then discard the water and wipe dry.

  • Electrode Care — Periodically inspect the electrodes for scale or mineral buildup. If buildup is visible, clean gently with a soft brush and a dilute vinegar solution. Do not use abrasive materials.

  • Do Not Submerge the Base — The base contains electronic components, including the high-voltage power supply and control PCB. Do not submerge in water or place under running water.

  • Storage — When not in use for extended periods, drain all water and store in a dry, cool place. Recharge the battery every 3 months to maintain battery health.
